When we get a whole engine the first step is tearing it down and washing everything. Cast iron parts get dunked in the hot tank before getting checked for cracks and in some cases bead blasted.

After all parts are washed each piece lands in the machine shop where we look over them to make sure there’s not any other problems lurking. Most blocks get bored out to accept slightly bigger pistons for a perfect fit.

Then the block heads to surfacing where it gets a nice flat finish.

The crank goes to our crank department where it is looked over for size, trueness, and cracks.
